TURMOIL MUSIC is based on a music network for independent musicians. 
INDIE / ALTERNATIVE / WAVE / ELECTRONIC / AMBIENT / EXPERIMENTAL / OTHER

No charts or rankings. Just your own free web space to promote your band or project. 

As a musician and long time user of open music platforms such as ‘Myspace’, I started to get more and more annoyed by the everlasting growing list of other musicians trying to get my attention. Instead of getting attention from my true fans, my message board was overflowing with links to music releases and other stuff I didn’t ask for from musicians all over the world, trying to get a top position on the ranking list… Most of the time their music didn’t appeal to me at all and not seldom these same musicians were cheating by using automated click bots to have more audio plays showing up in their embedded audio players and a higher count of profile views on their home pages…

This fact together with the also annoying advertisements that showed up on my own page made me decide to try something new… Setting up a new Independent Networking site dedicated to Professional Independent Artists with a similar view and approach on Independent Music… This is the reason why ‘TURMOIL MUSIC’ is only accessible by invitation or by direct request.

Our goal is to gather a cool family of artists coming from the same corner of "Alternative" music with the same ideas and philosophy about independent music...

On ‘TURMOIL MUSIC’ you will find no advertisements and no charts and best of all it’s totally free! As a supplement to our ‘ReverbNation’ label and our ‘Facebook’ page, ‘TURMOIL MUSIC’ offers you a strong tool to promote your music and a means to collaborate with other fellow musicians. A tool that does not have to suffer from the heavy traffic and comments from other non musicians! So you pay nothing to join us and you can place whatever you wish (music players, widgets etc) on your own page just as long as you abide by our rules…

Yes… like all sites do, we also have our rules. So please, before you sign up make sure to have read our guidelines! These guidelines are here to make sure that the basic principles and the philosophy of ‘TURMOIL MUSIC’ are kept intact and to keep the subject matter of all provided material on the site within the limits of ‘Independent Music’…

TURMOIL MUSIC BASIC GUIDELINES

-  We shall remove any material which is not related to music.

- Do not spam your fellow musicians with music widgets or promotions!

- Each member page is only provided for an individual artist or band to promote their music.     

- We don’t allow non member musicians, websites or companies etc…

- Dormant accounts with uncompleted profiles will be removed 2 weeks after registration

- No swearing or anything that may insult others

- No nudity

- No commercial advertisements on this site…

- Try to avoid open disputes on blogs and forums. (better keep this private by using private messages)

A SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING BLOGS

since your blogs will also appear on our main page, would you please be so kind to keep your blogs 'text-only', and keep all your direct media stuff like audio widgets, videos and photos on your own 'My Page' in the relevant place holders... Most artist do have a reverbnation-page or homepage or facebookmyspace... so if you want to mention this in your blog, linking content should be sufficient as well.

This is to preserve the kind of plain look and style that the 'Main Page' has right now.... And on the 'Main Page' we don't want to spam our fellow musicians with all kinds of widgets and other media ;-)
