A.S. Swanski is a Sweden based producer of alternative electronica, industrial, dark ambient and worldbeat. Born in The Netherlands, he has been actively involved in music since the mid-1980s, originally playing bass - and when he didn't play music, he wrote about it for a local fanzine. Swanski made his solo debut Twist in 1999 which flopped dramatically. After that he took a 9-year break during which he was a cd reviewer for the Belgian weekly Humo, got married, changed diapers and moved country a couple of times, eventually ending up in Sweden.
The changed musical landscape which made home studios affordable and reaching an audience possible without the support of a major record label, encouraged him to create his own songs again. In 2011, he released The Assassination EP, his first musical sign of life in 12 years, presenting a dark blend of electronics, industrial noise and primitive grooves, held together by sharp, cynical comments on political and social developments in today's world.
2012 saw the release of Electro Noir, his second full-length cd, which got raving reviews on music blogs and airplay on various radio stations.
