Manchester born Exile Pots has been creating live keyboard and guitar-based phrase layering compositions, via looped Revox tape machines, since the early '90s. Though that system has been augmented and largely replaced with delay/looping pedals and laptop jiggery-pokery, the old tape ethos remains.

Capture hardware: Line 6 DL4, laptop, Revox A77 and B77.

Dear Exile,

Toy Maker is brilliant, such a fitting title, too. Atoll, well, it has all been said by so many...It is a work of beauty and creative genius! And the new picture, well it is in the Miss P league, superb. Was it also produced between 1996 and 2009? Unlike Wooden Planet, your train-spotting fanatics [nice train, but not able to identify its class from here) will add, to which I'm gradually acclimatising, thanks for being patient (only just got as far as the marvellous 'Careful....' )

Did I mention 'Even More [zc9]'? Oh, I'd better not then, you might just like it.

Very best wishes,

Spider dlb.

Dear Exile, Fantastic to hear a new production of the Butcher's Sun Pipe. At the moment (and I've just listened to them both) I'm sticking with the 22 minute 'original', but time will tell. I must have gone the opposite way to Christopher Columbus, because at one point in each I'm standing right on the edge of the world with nothing but the Sun Pipes and stars swirling around! Soundscape indeed! Very best wishes and thanks for your support, Spider dlb. PS: Airwaves has 2 votes!

Dear Exile,

it's never a Dull Day when people get to know you and to listen to  your music what  is so good that it cannot be described in one or more words, not even in Two Days...in order to follow our  highly respected fellow compagnion Spider dlb... Miss P would love to request very humbley & politely..... can we expect, some day  .. Airwaves in Seashine.. please??

That song of yours is Highly Recommended by me.. because that song is the first song i've ever heard of you.  And from that moment on.. hehehe  .. :) i've started to collect  your songs and the number of those did indeed beat that of my collection of Bowie songs  ..  :))  All the best to you,  Coccinella

Dear Exile, 1999, what a good find! It seems to have touches of all the 'oldies' like Premarina and A Dull Day in Aguaparn, and more, and I really like the ending part. By the way, and you can tell me to mind my own business if you like, but I think that your public deserve to hear one of the unique masterpieces they have so far been denied. Yes, I speak of the "Oh! 1" that is.  Hope all is well. Best wishes, Spider dlb.

Good afternoon, Mr Pots. I''ll get set up here as soon as I can work it all out. Thanks very much for your welcome. I couldn't get off to a better start! I Hope you have received the 320 version of Oxtespeil, if not I'll try again...Very best wishes, Spider dlb.

Thank you very much for the listen and kind words. We're especially tickled that you picked up on the sources and inspirations...that Tom Baker sample is rather difficult to hear--it takes a true Whovian to notice that! We're planning on an entire album (under one of our other projects) made solely with crafted sounds from Tom Baker era Doctor Who, including of course a bunch of his Doctor quotes. News will be posted in all the usual places...
