Solitude Within

A soundtrack to the movies you imagine, Solitude Within is progressive rock with layered epics and dark ambient touches. As a solo-project started by Dutch-born Lucas Wetzels to express the musical side of his ever busy mind, Solitude Within explores a labyrinth where architecture, philosophy and music are intertwined and always cross paths. Writing, production, mixing and album artwork are all done by Lucas, ceaselessly trying to capture dark moods and sweeping musical landscapes. The result is atmospheric and layered progressive rock/metal with a cinematographic touch.
With his second album ‘A Hundred Year Ocean’ completed, he is now working on finishing the third album titled ‘The Solitary Tree’- the two together forming a double album in which ‘A Hundred Year Ocean ‘ represents a more melancholic and moody side, while ‘The Solitary Tree’ features some more epic and rocking tracks. Currently living and working in Buenos Aires, Lucas is already drawing up the first ideas for the next album provisionally entitled ‘Prometheus Withdrawn’, so stay tuned!
